About Charley

How I work, and what I care about when I build.

The short version

I build local first automation and operations tooling, work hands on with the systems behind it, and write about what I learn. I like problems that reward patience and precision. I would rather ship something that behaves predictably than something that looks impressive and surprises you later.

How I work

My standards are simple and I hold to them. No silent failures. Explicit paths and inputs. Everything logged, so a result can be checked rather than trusted on faith. Safety before speed. When I am not certain, I say so, and I show the evidence.

Why my own name

I work under my own name and my own standards. This site is the record of that: what I built, when, and how it behaved. If you want to know what I actually do, read the projects and the writing rather than a list of claims.
